WhatNow helps collectors identify trading cards on live streams and review market information.
This policy explains what is processed when you join the beta or scan a card.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your personal information.
- We don't collect your general browsing history. WhatNow acts only on supported pages and when you use its features.
- We don't ask beta applicants for passwords or payment information.
Beta sign-up information
When you join the beta list, we collect your email address and the IP address the sign-up came
from. We use them to manage TestFlight invitations, prevent duplicate or automated sign-ups, and
communicate about the beta. Our hosting and infrastructure providers process submissions on our
behalf. You can request deletion at any time using the contact address below.
What happens when you scan
- The frame or card image you capture is sent to WhatNow and service providers used for
image processing, card recognition, catalog matching, and pricing.
- Catalog reference images and card details may be compared with your scan to produce likely
matches. Marketplace services may receive a card image or search details when listing results are requested.
- If you submit match feedback, the reported image, candidates, and diagnostic details may be
retained so we can investigate the result and improve matching.
What we store
- Beta information: the information described above for as long as needed to administer the beta
and related product communications, or until you ask us to delete it.
- Product information: card matches, market data, feedback reports, and limited operational logs
used to provide the service, prevent abuse, troubleshoot errors, and improve results.
- On your device: app or extension settings needed for the product to function.
Browser-extension permissions
- Supported live-auction sites — to add the WhatNow interface and capture the frame you choose to scan.
- Storage — to keep product settings on your device.
- WhatNow and approved content services — to process scans and display catalog, pricing, and listing information.
